First Ideas
Our original ideas revolved around two teenagers who followed a light they see into an abandoned building. One of them does not think it is a good idea, whilst the other filled with confidence wants to track the light down. Whilst searching for what they saw they become separated. One boy uses a phone/camcorder to capture what he sees, his friend later discovers the phone/camcorder abandoned with no trace of his friend. He will search for his friend despite his opposing feelings towards staying there. However we recieved feedback on this idea which suggestsed we stray away from the sci-fi idea because t is hard to pull off when editing. the main thing we were told is that rather than having a storyline, we had part of a storyline, which is not what we wanted.
More Ideas
We adapted our ideas to fit the horror genre as we felt this was more achievable with the experience we had. We decide to try and work with the slasher genre, particularly set in a house, common place for horror films. We focused on the idea of someone breaking into a house and killing the single occupant after having been left by their parents.
In the area of Redgrave, South London, a prolific serial killer is targeting young victims to kill in an attack of extreme violence for media attention. The police issue warnings to local residents to stay inside and not to leave their homes under any circumstances until this murderer is caught.
A 17 year old girl by the name of Abbie Smith is left home alone with her brother after her parents leave for the weekend. Her brother has gone out with his friends and is returning home. Little does he know that there is the murderer stalking him as he walks home. As he begins to put his keys in the door he is grabbed by the killer and is dead within seconds leaving the killer with access to his home where his young sister is alone.
After hearing a noise from outside Abbie begins to investigate. The killer has already gained access to the home through her brother’s keys. As Abbie is in severe danger she decides to try and hide from the killer and it becomes her task to find a way of avoiding him.
